Joy of Man's Desiring This film tells the story of a pair of young siblings who lost their parents in an earthquake. In the junior jury segment at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival, it won the special prize after taking home the highest honor in the category. The story revolves around 12-year-old Hinano (played by Oenome Etsu) and her brother Kaito, who are only 5 years old. Both siblings were deprived of their parents during the earthquake disaster that shook the world. Since then, they have been left with nothing but memories of their family's past happiness. In order to prevent the pain from overwhelming them, the two children attempt to escape reality by entering a fantasy world created by their own imagination. Their ultimate goal is to be reunited once again in the future and to find peace in their childhood memories. However, their innocent and naive thoughts gradually become more complex as they struggle to cope with the loss of their parents. This powerful drama unfolds a deeper understanding about the impact of tragedy on people's lives and the courage it takes to move forward.
